Your Posture During the Era of a Pandemic and Zoom

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Elizabeth Garcia.

The two dimensional world of Zoom Meetings can often diminish your presence during a virtual meeting with colleagues. More often than not, it all comes down to the set-up of your video camera to promote good posture and the success of your presentation.  Incorporating these tips can enable you to effectively promote yourself and your message:
  1. Sit in a sturdy chair without leaning into the back. Ideally, you would want to sit on a bench or stool to encourage tall posture.
  2. Adjust your video camera to be even with your face or your hairline to promote opening up the front of the chest and lifting the chin.
  3. If you communicate with your hands, set up your video camera to allow you to stand up to be fully seen.

Remember that looking into the video camera is like making eye contact with the audience. As tempting as it is to look at the screen, losing eye contact can lead to the chin dipping down and the shoulders rolling down and in.
